Democracy is defined as ‘a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.’ It is inherent in this definition that any government formed in a democracy will invariably be as per the bidding of the majority population represented by their elected agents (representatives) that they vote for.
